What I am sharing with you today has been such a long time coming…
But before I dive in, I just want to express my deepest gratitude to you. Yes, you, the gorgeous girl (or rad guy) reading this message. I am so obsessed with you, my readers. You probably don’t know it, but your tiny acts of opening my emails and reading my blogs give me the courage to keep speaking my truth. More than you know. So for that, I thank you.
Okay, cheese ball moment = over.
Today I’m re-launching roadjesstraveled.com in full effect. I couldn’t be more stoked for all this amazing change. Don’t get me wrong – I was proud of the blog you were reading before. But it was a reflection of Jessica, two years ago. So much unexpected change and beautiful expansion has taken place since 2014, and I felt it was time to for my blog to reflect where I am today, and all that I’ve learned, seen, gained and grown to become.
I have had the great privilege of traveling the world to nearly 20 cities over the last two years and have gathered some seriously incredible travel finds. A huge part of my blog 2.0 is going to be about sharing these inside tips on food, culture, cocktails, where to stay and where to shop with all of you.
If you couldn’t tell, I have become quite literally obsessed with Snapchat and all the new emerging social channels. I believe real-time video is revolutionizing the way human beings from all over the globe are sharing, consuming and connecting through content. I will be talking about that with you on the regular, so get ready.
I am hosting and producing a handful of rad events this year, mainly targeted at entrepreneurs, and I want you to be a part of them. Check “Rad Events” for the updates and keep an eye out for invites.
Annnnnd! I have launched a podcast with my amazing friend Jillian LeCompte!! It’s called “Girls Gone Real” and in it, we chat with fearless and authentic women about fearless and authentic topics. From divorce in your 20s to going broke in your 30s to being a working woman in a male-dominated industry to girl-on-girl meanness to STDs and depression to what it really means to live an independent, truthful life. We are getting REAL real, and OMFG, are we excited. We’re on iTunes NOW so make sure you subscribe and download our episodes.
Most of all, over these last two years, and now at 35 years young, I think I finally understand the meaning of self-love. Don’t get me wrong: loving myself is still a daily struggle, but instead of struggling alone in it, this new-and-improved blog is most of all intended to be a collective, a portal and a magnifying glass into the big questions I ask myself daily on how we can all love ourselves a little deeper, a little harder and a little more unconditionally. So I’ve dedicated a whole section to it.
I have learned so many big lessons these last few years. Perhaps most of all, I’ve learned that the only thing constant in our life is change. And that as long as you’re being true to that change, there’s no reason to pigeonhole yourself into an idea of who you were or who you think you need to be. Because it always is, and always will be, evolving.
And so without further ado, I welcome you to the new and improved roadjesstraveled.com, a rolling compilation of my passions, travels and obsessions, delivered with love and the highest of intentions.
Thank you for riding this journey with me. Traveling with people you love is so much more fun than traveling alone.
Cheers to your evolution,
