Estee Lauder once said: “I never dreamed of success. I just worked for it.”
“Be the designer of your own destiny,” said Oscar De La Renta.
And the great Nelson Mandela remarked: “May your choices reflect your hopes, not your fears.”
When I hear quotes like these from great leaders, I think of great women. Women who show up to their life with an unquantifiable amount of courage, self-possession, authenticity and work-ethic. Women who are lead by faith, spread positive energy and always, always remain grateful for the blessings that come their way.
I think of women like Whitney Reynolds.
I’ll tell you the kind of woman Whitney is. She’s the kind of woman who walked into the offices of NBC Chicago in over-sized heels and a borrowed suit to pitch the head of the network her dream show. She’s the kind of woman to not only land it, but to go on to eventually grow “The Whitney Reynolds Show” from a local NBC show into a nationally broadcasted talk show on PBS, aired in several markets.
I love to dissect success stories like hers, and get to the root of the dream that inspired it and the drive that made it happen. In today’s episode of SimplyBe TV, Whitney and I go back to the beginning. As in the very beginning, when Whitney Reynolds found her calling.
Hopefully it will empower you to go re-identify it, reignite it and rev up yours.
Cheers to never settling for anything less than our dreams,
